Over my working life I have had the opportunity to be involved in many industries. I have worked in the building and home improvement industry, floristry, marketing, trained in aspects of timber, bricks, paint, flooring, lighting and design, window and furnishings, kitchen and bathroom design. Even though the industries have been diverse, they have also been cohesive when it comes to my passion of being an interior designer.
After searching and narrowing down a course that would deliver all the aspects I wanted in order to be a fully trained interior designer, I chose The Interior Design Academy’s Professional Interior Design Course. The Academy staff responded promptly and were very helpful with providing all the information I needed before deciding to enrol. I knew that I had made the right decision the moment I received my first tutorial.
The course is excellent and covers all areas of the interior design industry. The tutorials are well presented and researched with links to websites that are great for further research. The assignments really give you the opportunity to be creative and to stretch your imagination for design.
The direction I received from my tutor was professional with a personal touch. At no point did I feel intimidated. Her assessment and comments were fair and concise and I always looked forward to reading her comments and suggestions after each assignment. There is always room for improvement, I never stop learning.
Any time I had questions or needed more information, all I had to do was call or email and the staff were there and happy to help.
The day my certificate arrived was amazing. I couldn’t believe how excited I was and it went straight into a frame and mounted on the wall in my study. I still have to pinch myself every time I look at it.
My interior design business, Divine Design Homescapes, is now operating and I work in conjunction with builders, trades, architects, retail, real estate companies and also corporate and private styling events.
I highly recommend The Interior Design Academy especially if you want a professional interior design course. Their industry knowledge, support and follow up is excellent. I continue to keep in touch with the Academy and I’m always welcomed.
